UK Biturbo price guide.

My sincere thanks to

Andy Heywood of Bill McGrath Maserati

for compiling the following data for your interest.

Values are in the following categories;

Condition 1
This means low mileage, full history, no faults at all and dealer sale with dealer facilities. The perfect car.

Condition 2. This means the same as above but a private sale.

Condition 3. Most cars fall into this category and it means an average mileage car with known history, looking used (maybe tatty interior), evidence of minor corrosion on body but a sound car that can be driven straight away without a major overhaul.

Condition 4. A car that is high mileage, non-continuous history, may need some work in the near future but with current MOT.

Condition 5. A basket case with no MOT, not accident damaged but in need of serious work and possibly a breaker.

Important Notes :

1. All values are for cars being sold in the UK.

2. LHD is always worth less in the UK. Some models were LHD only and these are shown separately. Others were available in either form and for these only RHD is shown. For a LHD car, subtract 20%.

3. Cars that were official UK import are in column 3 as UK, imports in the same column are cars that were not officially sold here. N.B the original Biturbo was sold here in LHD form in small numbers but the majority are personal imports.

3. Automatic gearbox is worth less on carburettor cars and 222/430 (less 20%) but does not affect value of late spyder or Ghibli.

4. Modified cars i.e. cars fitted with spoilers, big wheels etc. are almost unsaleable and can only be valued individually. All values are for cars in standard form.

5. Cars made for other markets than Italy or UK can differ in specification. IE a 425 in Singapore specification will have fuel injection and a 420 to Singapore specification will be RHD! There was also a 425 in Italy with LHD etc. These can only be valued individually.

6. All prices in GB£ sterling.

"It is extremely difficult with the number of different variations to be accurate. Some of the values are perhaps surprising but most are based on actual sales which I have heard about this year. Therefore I think it is accurate and am quite happy to put my name to it."

Andy Heywood of Bill McGrath Maserati.
